There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
Well met well met said an old true love
Well met well met said he
I’ve returned from the salt salt sea
And it’s all for the love of thee
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
If you’ll forsake your house carpenter
And go along with me
I’ll show you where the grass grows green
On the shores of the deep blue sea
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
He was a sailor: charismatic and handsome, with eyes for no one but her. On its maiden voyage, his ship The Lucretia capsized and all men were lost to the depths but him. He returned a changed man. His eyes were black now, not the blue of the ocean he knew so well.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
His voice had a rasp to it and he never slept through the night. The townspeople feared him, the boy they once revered was a specter now, roaming the beaches on sleepless nights, speaking to no one but her.
People forgot that original boy, replaced his visage with wild tales of a man who made a deal with the devil, who sold his soul to the sea in order to return from the dead, to return to his Lorna.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
They lived a life of two, and two alone, in a house made of driftwood. And then one night, the floods came. This was no rain storm, but a siege from below. Slowly but furiously, the floorboards of their home were replaced by saltwater. In the tumult, the water began to bubble and writhe, the waves hissing into his ears,
“The sea awaits what the sea has claimed.”
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
Ooooooooooooo…….
They’d not been at sea three weeks
I’m sure it was not four
When there sprung a leak in the bottom of the boat
And it sunk for to rise no more
The sea grabbed ahold of her, shockingly strong, pulling her down, down, down to the ocean floor. Our young sailor followed, plunging into the depths in search of his Lorna.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaa
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.
There’s only one C in lunacy.
The only one sea I know.

Copper Boy

|
|||
Copper boy, in your suit,
How long, how long have you been down there?
Copper boy, come back soon,
I know it’s nice but soon you’ll need air.
Seaweed as tall as daddy’s house!
No one can speak, it’s quiet as a mouse.
What lies ahead cannot be seen,
only shades of blue and ultra-marine.
The man you follow- his heart is sad,
today is not the day to find out why he’s so mad.
Copper boy, just slow down,
no need to rush just look around.
Copper boy, close your eyes,
I’m here, I’m here right by your side.

Ship of Fools
01:36
|
|||
No suicides permitted here, no smoking on the parlor and this side...
Is not a sleeping surface.
Oh a ship of fools is a lonely place and a lonely place needs a lonely face
Oh a ship of fools needs a lonely crew and a lonely crew needs only you

The night I fell for Long John Silver
He was the merriest man I knowed
Tonight I dream of Long John Silver
And the debt that I were owed
He was tall as a cliff and strong as a ship
His face was as round as a ham
He ran with a crutch and danced like a bird
And he asked if I needed a man
So it was Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum
A sailor can’t live on the land
So we made our love on a ship of fools
And sailed off for glistening sands
He told me of Hawkins, of Black Dog, of Beggar
He told me of huntin’ for treasure
He told me of riptides and walkin’ the plank
As we hoisted the old Jolly Roger
And it was Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum
A sailor can’t live on the land
So we made our love on a ship of fools
And sailed off for glistening sands
Then one night he held me close
And put a paper ‘twixt my nails
I looked at it and I saw the Black Spot
As he cried, “Dead men tell no tales!”
“Right, my girl, you’re the best I know.
You really shiver me timbers
But we know all captains go down with their ships
And you’re quickly becoming an anchor.”
So it was Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum
As I dove off from the mast head
As I swam away from that ship of fools
And a lover who wanted me dead
And if I see that man again
I’ll fight his fire with fire
I’ll make that man go down with his ship
Like a viking funeral pyre
And it’ll be Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum
A lady can’t live on the land
And I’ll make my love on a ship of fools
As I sail off for glistening sands

Ghost Bones
02:12
|
|||
And the boat came down
The boat came down
The boat came down
We are the ghost bones
We are the ghost bones
We are the ghost bones
We are the ghost bones
We are the ghost bones
We are the ghost bones
We are the ghost bones
We are the ghost bones
Down came the whale as we
Sat upon his spine, as we
Speared him in the throat, and we
Sank beneath the brine
Sank beneath the brine
He dragged us down below the waves
In a last act of rebellion
And we saw the whalebone graveyard
Where they begged of us to join them
Down came the whale as we
Sat upon his spine, as we
Speared him in the throat, and we
Sank beneath the brine
Sank beneath the brine
And the boat came down
The boat came down
The boat came down
We are the ghost bones
We are the ghost bones
Down came the whale ooooah
Down came the whale ooooah

We drifted o’er the harbor bar and I with sobs did pray
Oh let me be awake, my god, oh let me sleep all way.
He prayeth best who loveth best all creatures great and small,
for the dear god who loveth us, he made and loveth all.

Maidensong
01:32
|
|||
There was a maiden loved a sailor, she gave him wind so he could sail.
The generosities of maidens, the restless hearts that never ail.
She laid the wind into a headscarf, she tied it shut with three firm knots.
She gave him rules for him to follow, she made him swear, she thought he would.
Untie the first for soft breeze gentle’s lift, untie the second for a gale.
You’d be a fool to loose the last one, the gusts would make your mission fail.
The generosities of maidens, the curiosities of men.
He kissed her warning lips goodbye, she never heard from him again.

Far far from land
Where the flowers grow
Curse of the drowning man
Where the waters flow
He saw her face
Fa la la la la
Far far from land
Where the oysters grow
Kill your love
Where the waters flow
Fa la la la la

Don’t ever turn your back on the ocean
No, never turn your back on the sea
They’ll never find survivors underwater
Oh, underwater we all sink and turn to steam

Ancient Mariner
01:28
|
|||
And is that woman all her crew
Is she death and are there two
Is death that woman’s mate?
The fair breeze blew
The white foam flew
The furrow followed free
We were the first that ever burst into that silent sea
I moved and could not feel my limbs
I was so light--almost
I dreamed that I had died in sleep
And was a blessed ghost
Day after day
Month after month
We stuck, no breath nor motion
As idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean
And is that woman all her crew
Is she death and are there two
Is death that woman’s mate?

All Hands on Deck
02:46
|
|||
The sky is blue.
She’s blue
So Blue
The water’s clear.
So clear, so clear.
Get ready boys.
Let’s go, let’s go.
Is everybody here?
We’re here, we’re here!
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
There’s nowhere else we’d rather be.
Aye, aye, aye.
Riggers!
Ready!
Unfurl the main course.
She’s free, she’s free.
Loose the buntline, loose the leechline.
Free, free, free.
Let down the main course.
She’s down, she’s down.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
There’s nowhere else we’d rather be.
Aye, aye, aye.
Sheet the clews.
Clews in!
Hoist the jib.
Jib aloft!
Fix that halyard.
Halyard in!
Prepare to weigh the anchor.
Ready, ready, ready!
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
All hands on deck.
Nowhere else we’d rather be --
We’re clear.
All hands on deck.
